The Attitude of Gratitude

November 28, 2016

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you had some time to think of things that you are grateful for!   For Thanksgiving we cooked 3 turkeys, yes THREE, and took them to Brother Brown and his family. Sister Hallam went to culinary school, so she's been teaching me how to cook!!

Living Proof I'm Cooking
This week has been kind of crazy, but it's been amazing. We have a Baptism scheduled for Brother Brown and two of his kids for this coming Saturday! I'm convinced that missionary work is one of the most sacred callings. I have watched Brother Brown and his kids change. They have given up a lot for the church, and I haven't heard them EVER complain. It's truly a sacred calling.

I read a talk this week by Elder Ballard that talked about how God takes us AS we are. There really is no starting point. He just takes us where we are, and how we are, and goes from there IF we let him. I see it all the time. WE are the only thing that gets in the way of becoming that person we are all trying to become. We need to stop this thought process of  "I've gone too far. I'm not worth His love. I'm not capable of  understanding the scriptures." Yes, change is hard and scary, but if you're in Gods hands those hard and scary things are handled with love, care, and understanding. After all isn't that why Christ suffered in Gesthemane? So we could be "at one" with Heavenly Father?

As I was studying this morning I remembered a picture I had in one of my journals. I pulled it out, and set it on my wall. It's entitled "I will not fail thee." I want you all to know that He will not fail you. He never has, and never will.

Last week I wrote about being a light to others.  Click HERE to see a beautiful video about the Ultimate Source of Light and how when we act like Him, we can spread light.

I challenge you to find ways to #lighttheworld this month.  Below is an advent calendar to give you ideas.

I hope you all have a beautiful week full of service and love as we continue to #LightTheWorld!!

The Gospel is true, Jesus is the Christ and the Redeemer of the World!!

I miss you all and am grateful for the support and love I feel from all my family and friends.

Love,
Sister Scherzinger
