Whom the Lord Calls, The Lord Qualifies.

Can I get a drum roll please...... Transfers were this week and I'm thrilled to be staying in Concord. I was asked to be a Trainer, so on Tuesday I met my brand new companion, Sister Magoon.  She's straight from the MTC, and I'm thrilled to be her first companion. I'm so Excited! I love this area SO much and the people are like family.

To be honest, I feel completely unqualified to train a new missionary.  President Blair says being a trainer is a sacred opportunity for a missionary.  You are able to shape what kind of a missionary they become for their entire mission.  You help shape their attitude and the way they teach.  I am pretty nervous, but I read this quote from President Harold B. Lee and it helped.  "Whom The Lord Calls, The Lord Qualifies."

"Moses, Jeremiah, Enoch and others had feelings of inadequacy about their callings. The Lord promised them He would strengthen them and give them the words that they should say. Missionaries today have the same promise if they will conquer their fears and open their mouths."
David B. Haight (Liahona Oct 2001)

I may not feel adequate right now, but I know God will help qualify me.  I need to do everything I can and trust Him as He molds me.

New Missionaries and Trainers
This week I've studied the talk Fourth Floor Last Door, by President Uchdorf, quite a few times. Trying to figure out what it is that I can do better not only as a missionary,  but as a person. I read it, and read it, and read it, and I noticed that each time I read it I highlighted the same phrase. "Faith is trust - trust that God sees what we cannot and that He knows what we do not." It's just a simple phrase, but it struck me.  Faith is pure trust. Trust in HIM. I started asking myself the following questions:

1. What specifically don't I trust Him with?
2. Why don't I trust Him?

I invite you to ponder the same questions and search for ways
you can let Him in and allow Him to work miracles in your life.

The Browns are doing great, in fact Brother Brown received the Priesthood yesterday!! Aba is a cute little missionary himself, only having been a member 6 weeks and he brought his friend, Moses, to church on Sunday.  My heart is full!!

We are still meeting with George and Laura.  I adore Laura.  She pinches my cheeks and gets mad at me if she thinks I didn't dress warm enough.  She cares so much for us and calls us "You Rascals You".  Ah, I just love it here.  I'm certain my heart will break when I have to leave.  New missionaries typically train for 2 transfers totaling 3 months.  That means by the time I am probably transferred from Concord I will have spent almost 8 months here...nearly half my mission.  Yes, I'm certain my heart will break.

This made me laugh!
I'm going to sign off with a quote from  a talk I love by  Elder Rasband called "The Joyful Burden of Discipleship".

"President Monson has said, "We are surrounded by those in need of our attention, our encouragement, our support, our comfort, our kindness--be they family members, friends, acquaintances, or strangers.  We are the Lord's hands here upon the earth, with the mandate to serve and to lift His children.  He is dependent upon each of us."  Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, ....ye have done it unto me."

I love you all,

Sister Scherzinger

New Year Revelations

New Year Resolutions Revelations

January 2, 2017

This week it snowed. A LOT. 13 INCHES!!!! But it was really fun. We came up with
crazy ideas to meet new people, and a lot of them worked!

We had exchanges this week, and I was in Catabury with Sister
Mchoustin. Such a sweet woman. I absolutely love her.

We set a goal of finding 7 new investigators this week --On Friday morning we only had 3 and we had a goal of 7.  After exchanges Sister Lefevre and I  went  about our week and foundnew investigators-- which was such a blessing. My goodness.  God really does help us and wants to help us achieve righteous goals

Take courage from the words of King David to his son Solomon in 1 Chonicles 28:20

Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

Russel M. Ballard taught:

If your goals are righteous, of God-given perspective, eternal in their nature, then go for them.  Pray for the inner strength to have the discipline to do those things that will guarantee through your activity and your life that you will reach your goals.  Then, I think, perhaps as important as anything, we have to have faith  We have to have faith in God.  we have to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  And, oh, how desperately we have to have faith in ourselves.

Inviting Heavenly Father in to our lives daily allows Him the opportunity to bless and help us. Click here.

With that in mind and it being the NEW YEAR, I hope you all have a
chance to write down your goals for this year and ask God for His help
to achieve it. I know He will. He does it every day for me. Put forth
your effort and he will do the rest.

I love you all!

Angels We Have Heard on High

December 25, 2016

“He is the self-proclaimed ‘Light of the World’ but yet, in the Sermon on the Mount, He teaches a very profound doctrine,” said Elder Nielsen. “Ye are the light of the world. He is asking us to be like Him—I believe, to share His light to everyone we come in contact with. The Savior was the perfect example. His small acts of service became profound and magnificent events in the lives of those He touched. … We have a chance to share this light with others all the time, just by who we are and Whose we are.”

Church members around the world responded to the call to “Light the World” this holiday season through acts of service—in small and large ways.
As of December 19, videos on Mormon.org associated with the campaign have been viewed more than 68.8 million times by more than 3.7 million visitors to the site and have been shared via social media platforms hundreds of thousands of times. The daily advent calendar provides opportunities during the first 25 days of December to share the Spirit of Christ through service and provides ideas for individuals, families, and groups.  May we not lose the sweet spirit of charitable service and love for our fellow men.

December In New England

December in New England

December 19, 2016

Hello everyone!

Man! What a busy week!! This week we picked up FIVE new investigators!
I'm in awe.

This week we have tried to work a lot with  less active members, and our
new investigators. It snowed a lot and there was a freezing rain storm
so we walked a lot of places. Which was really such a blessing because
that's where we met our 5 new investigators.

The ASL is coming along!  I have included a video of me bearing my testimony of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon, and how much I love Missionary work!

As we all know I, Sister Scherzinger, DO NOT LIKE THE SNOW, but I am
coping with it. I wear 3 pairs of leggings, 4 shirts, and a sweater
PLUS my coat, hat and boots with two pairs of socks.

Snow reaching the top of my boots!

I've really grown to love the people here in Concord. The Lord really
knows what He's doing when He places us with specific people and
places. We have something to learn from each and every single one of
them.

I'm sorry it so short, but I hope you all have a beautiful Christmas,
remember the true meaning and know that I love and miss you all!

Love,
Sister Scherzinger
